G minor STRINGS

G MINOR STRINGS
Anybody who has experienced the same thing as I have will surely empathize with me. You see, I have been trying to play the guitar for very long years; 20 years to be precise. But something is amiss. I have not progressed from the beginner stage at all. In all the sites on guitar playing I visit, I am asked to indicate my level of playing and I always have to select ‘beginner’ from the drop down menu. It’s quite embarrassing, though there is nobody to raise eyebrows face to face. Most books on guitar playing with names like ‘Learn to play the guitar in 1 hour’ and such, advise their buyers to play till your fingers bleed. I played for more than an hour, but my fingers didn’t bleed. May be, that’s the reason I have not learned the instrument. Some others said – keep playing, you’ll get it. Lately I have been wondering what IT means and in what form IT will come to me.

I wonder if there are more people like me out there in the musical world, trying to get IT. I take comfort there must be more like - still strumming till the strings come apart. Perseverance Pays - they say, but surely it’s not PLAYING. But I am persevering and may be one day Ill play the guitar like the wind.
